PLEDGING

To pledge a fraternity while attending college will be a great achievement and will look good on your resume it will also afford you some life long memories.

However pledging Kappa Sigma Epsilon will afford you life long friends that will be there till the very end.  As far as looking good on a resume, you will get any job you want because you will learn that anything is achievable once you put your mind to it.

Being a Kappa Sigma Epsilon brother is not for everyone though; it is up to you to become one.

“Being a brother does not mean belonging to a "house" like other "frats" Houses burn down (we all know that).  KSE does not burn down. Our house is where we decide it is.”

Brian Lewis Fall 1989

If you’re looking to party, you will want to find another fraternity.  We have our fair share of social events, however our brotherhood is more important than partying. Our legacy has endured over half a century. We have accomplished this through three simple principles: Unity, Trust, and Tradition.

The colors of our fraternity are Black & White, very simple colors for a very simple fraternity. We do not believe in making things more than they are.  Our pledging period we believe is simple; we expect pledges to learn. We do not believe in drinking and doing drugs to become a brother. We do not believe in doing ridiculous acts in public to make pledges look foolish.

We believe that when a decision is made to pledge the “greatest fraternity in the world” then and only then will the greatest adventure known as, your life, start to take shape.  It is at this point that you decide what you want, if you want the greatest memories, the greatest friendships, and the greatest opportunities life has to offer, its up to you to take them.

Fraternally yours,

The Brothers of Kappa Sigma Epsilon

“Here were a group of young men that took a very shy kid from WNY and treated him like an equal, hell like a BROTHER. After thirty plus years I can still remember each one of them. This is for Walt, Carrott, Willie, Gordy, Joey, Teeter, Chitter, Pete, Don, Scott, Ed, Beef, Dana, Pa and even Bareass! I will never forget you.I have no recollections of any of my classmates at RIT and very few (mainly my study group) from Cornell. Imagine if I had been a GDI at ASU. I would have been invisible for two years. KSE is where I got much of my self-confidence. How do you tell this to an eighteen-year-old? How do you tell him how this experience will change his life?”

Dave Frey Spring 1968

“The friendships that are formed are for a lifetime. The memories are great and are reflected upon often. Your personal potential is raised once pledging has been achieved and the bar keeps getting raised as time goes on (if you take what the fraternity has to offer and give what you have to offer to the fraternity). Certain hardships in life can be easily dealt with because when you are down, there are at least 20 brothers to bring you back up. In the same token, when things are good, brothers will be there to share the triumph.”

Brian Lewis Fall 1989

“We were just kids, frightened and about to embark on the rest of our lives There's a war going on and you've been drafted, but opt to join the Navy. A KSE Brother does the same. You're in the same company… For 13 weeks we defied all that was thrown at us and amazed the rest of our company at what could be accomplished through teamwork. When asked, "How do you do it?" A simple answer, "He's my brother!" That was 31 years ago.”

 Ron Pesta Fall 1968
